OZVIOR

About

Why Ozvior exists.

Ozvior was started from the other side of the table - by people who had spent years hiring, receiving what the recruitment industry produces, and noticing how little of it was useful.

01

The gap we kept seeing

India has extraordinary depth of talent. People building foundation models, payment systems at national scale, and products used by hundreds of millions. That is not in dispute, and it has not been for some time.

What is still true is that the instruments used to find those people are blunt. Companies hiring into India - and plenty of companies inside it - fall back on proxies: the brand on the CV, the tier of the college, the number of years. Those proxies are weak in any market. In one this deep and this fast-moving, they are close to noise.

So the same small set of visible people get contacted repeatedly, and a much larger set of genuinely exceptional people are never found at all. Meanwhile the role stays open, and the conclusion is that the talent does not exist. Usually it does. Nobody went looking properly.

02

What we do instead

We take a small number of searches and work them properly. We understand what a team is building before we look, map the market around the problem rather than query a database, and approach people individually with a reason that holds up.

When we assess someone we read three things: the credentials, the problems they have actually solved, and the context they solved them in. Then we write the case, including what concerns us. We stay in the process through the close, because that is where searches for strong people are usually lost.

It is slower per search and it does not scale the way an agency scales. That is the trade we have deliberately made.

03

Where our judgement comes from

We have built and scaled teams inside product companies rather than only staffed them: designing interview loops, screening engineers, sitting with founders on compensation, and watching what actually happened twelve months after someone joined.

That is the reason we ask uncomfortable questions at the orientation stage. We have seen which searches fail, and they almost always fail for reasons that were visible in the brief.

We work from Mumbai, with teams across India and companies hiring into it from around the world.

How we work

India's finest talent for teams that build across the world.

Understood, not listed

People are read for capability, not keywords.

A profile is a starting point for a conversation, never a substitute for one.

Selective by design

A limited number of engagements at a time.

Depth of search is only possible at low volume. We would rather decline an engagement than take one we cannot work properly.

Argued, not forwarded

Every introduction comes with a case and its reservations.

A shortlist without reservations is a shortlist nobody has thought about.

Straight answers

To companies and to candidates.

Including when the answer is that we are the wrong partner, or that the role is not ready to be searched.
